Day 1:(SAT) ADDIS ABABA
Flight to Addis and arrival. In the afternoon, you will have a city tour of Addis that includes the National Museum, Merkato (the largest open air market in Africa) and Entoto Mountain for the panoramic view of the city.
Day 2:(SUN) ADDIS ABABA – LANGANO
Drive from Addis to Lake Langano via Butajira visiting the Tiya Stele (UNESCO WHS) and also Lake Ziway for various species of birds.
Day 3:(MON)LANGANO - ARBAMINCH
After breakfast, drive from Langano to Arbaminch visiting the Alaba people and also the Wolaita people around Sodo, and the Dorze people & their beehive style houses at Chencha.
Day 4:(TUE) ARBAMINCH
In the morning we will have a boat trip to visit the crocodile market on Lake Chamo and in the afternoon an excursion to Chencha to see the Dorze people and their colorful market.
Day 5:(WED) ARBAMINCH – JINKA
Drive from Arbaminch to Jinka visiting the Tsemai and Ari villages on the way.
Day 6:(THU) JINKA – TURMI
Early in the morning excursion to Mago Park to visit the Mursi people. Return back to Jinka and leave for visiting the colorful market of Keyafer where many people from the Tsemai, Ari and Benna ethnic groups come together.
Day 7:(FRI)TURMI – OMORATE – TURMI
Excursion to Omorate to visit the other colorful people of the Omo Valley – the Dasenech. They are beautiful people leaving on the other side of the Omo River. Use a small local boat to cross the river and visit their village. Then return back to Turmi and visit the colorful Hammer people and their villages.
Day 8:(SAT)TURMI – KONSO
Drive from Turmi to Konso visiting the weekly colorful market of Dimeka and also the Konso people and their villages.
Day 9:(SUN)KONSO – AWASSA
After breakfast, drive from Konso to Awassa and visit the fish market and Lake Awassa.
Day 10:(MON)AWASSA – ADDIS – DEPARTURE
After spending some time in the attractive area of Lake Awassa, drive back to Addis. Rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, you will be invited to a traditional restaurant for an Ethiopian dinner with folkloric dances and coffee ceremony. After dinner transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
Day 11:(TUE)ADDIS ABABA – LALIBELA
Fly from Addis to Lalibela and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon visit the first cluster of the 12th and 13th century rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, which are considered by many as the 8th wonder of the world. This takes approximately 3 hours and is likely to be one of the most mind- blowing sights your ever see.
Day 11:(TUE)BALE MOUNTAINS NP
In the morning excursion around the park’s head quarter to enjoy exotic wildlife and vegetation such as Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck. In the afternoon, make another excursion to Sanete Plateau to enjoy the Afro-Alpine environment and also the endemic Ethiopian Wolf.
Day 13:(THU) AWASH NP – ADDIS – DEPARTURE
In the morning, after some game drive, drive from Awash NP to Addis. Rest of the day free. In the evening, you will be invited to a traditional restaurant for an Ethiopian dinner with folkloric dances and coffee ceremony. After dinner, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
